A benefit concert titled “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” was recently announced by Working Theory Beer Company in York, SC. The live-music event is a benefit for Beacon Village, a community within Swannanoa, and will be held on Sunday, December 1 at 1 pm and features headliner Acoustic Syndicate.
“Western North Carolina has been home to most of us in Acoustic Syndicate for generations and we all have deep roots in the towns and communities that have supported us for the last three decades. We would not be Acoustic Syndicate without that support. And now, it’s our turn to give back to one of these communities and help the people who need it more than ever.” said a band member.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a free event and will also host food trucks and a silent auction. Attendees can enjoy some Working Theory craft beer while experiencing good music for a good cause.
Even though the event is just over 100 miles away from Beacon Village in Swannanoa, organizers of Neighbors Helping Neighbors see it as a chance to help their northern neighbors during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
“In our professional and personal lives, we experienced many of the effects of Helene’s destruction and have seen first-hand the positive impact of neighbors helping one another, sharing generators, donating funds, attending cleanup efforts, and giving to those in need. But there’s still more that needs to be done.” continued member of Acoustic Syndicate.
The Beacon Foundation is excited to see events like this one as the Swannanoa Valley continues its path to restoration and community after the storm.
